Abstract

The main tendencies of building of modern cities are noted. The analysis of world experience on effective use of
areas of built-up areas is carried out. Possible variants of extensions and superstructures in non-typical places of living
space based on the experience of other countries of the world are considered. The mentioned problems are connected
with the close building of the city and suggested ways of solving these problems, based on the development of
alternative methods for expanding the effective area of the central part of the city, for example, Vinnitsa. The transition from horizontal to vertical zoning of city space, which is capable of providing a comfortable housing
and industrial environment, is proposed.
