The article examines the current state of palace and park complexes in Vinnytsia region as an important component of the historical, architectural, and cultural heritage of Ukraine. The research analyzes quantitative indicators of cultural heritage sites, their level of preservation, current functional condition, and the main challenges related to protection, maintenance, restoration, and further use. Particular attention is paid to the influence of socio-economic, legal, and urban planning factors on the preservation and revitalization of historic estate complexes under contemporary conditions.
Based on field surveys, archival sources, historical and architectural analysis, visual observations, and comparative research, the paper investigates palace and park complexes located in Napadivka, Obodivka, Serebryntsi, Honorivka, and Hushchyntsi. These objects represent different architectural characteristics, ownership conditions, preservation levels, and practical approaches to restoration. The study evaluates the effectiveness of the main methods of preservation and recovery, including restoration, reconstruction, and adaptive reuse.
The advantages, limitations, and practical possibilities of each approach are analyzed in relation to preserving historical authenticity, artistic value, and cultural significance. The research determines that adaptive reuse is currently the most effective strategy, as it combines heritage conservation with the introduction of new socially significant functions. Special emphasis is placed on the necessity of interdisciplinary cooperation between architects, restorers, local authorities, and community representatives in the process of heritage management.
Taking into account European experience in architectural heritage preservation, the study proposes directions for the revitalization of palace and park complexes as cultural, educational, tourism, and community-oriented spaces. This approach allows historic estates to be considered not only as valuable architectural monuments, but also as an important resource for sustainable territorial development, strengthening regional identity, supporting local communities, and increasing the tourism attractiveness of Vinnytsia region.
