Abstract

The article outlines the specifics of the appearance and activity of the hotel industry enterprises. The factors influencing the performance and efficiency of hotels functioning are analyzed. The degree of influence of architectural decisions on the activity of hotels is investigated and modern directions of development of enterprises of the hotel sector are determined.

One of the main factors in the successful functioning of the hotel business is the architectural and planning organization of hotel facilities. After all, the distinct planning of hotel buildings, significantly allocates them to the background of buildings of another functional profile. The architecture of the hotel to some extent serves its self-promotion. The peculiarities of architecture play an important role in the cultural and aesthetic factor of the development of the territory - the hotel's structure harmoniously complements the local architectural flavor or creates an architectural contrast to the local architectural planning and certain aesthetic discomfort. The urgency of this issue is intensified when there is a need for an architectural understanding of historical specificity in the urban environment.

The development of the shape of the hotel building - the inn the courtyard - throughout history shows how closely this type of architecture is associated with the development of public life. In the periods of its heyday buildings are constructed with an invoice and a rich form, during periods of stagnation - almost the only form is a primitive coating. In addition, not all available information about the state of the hotel business in different epochs can be supplemented by plans and drawings of buildings of visiting courtyards of that period.
