Abstract

This article explored the essence and main characteristics of ecological cities. The main types of ecological cities in
Europe, China, the Middle East and other countries, in countries with a more developed social infrastructure and a more
favorable ecological environment in which ecopolis construction is planned will be analyzed. The main ways of
ecologizing urban development are identified. The main ecological problems of cities of Ukraine are revealed. The
possibilities of using foreign experience in conducting regional environmental policy have been determined. The
regulatory and legal framework and measures to ensure sustainable development of human settlements in Ukraine are
analyzed.
