Abstract

The article is devoted to the complex physicochemical and toxicological analysis of fuel compositions based on alcohol industry waste, the use of which is a response to the acute need for autonomous heat sources in the conditions of the global energy crisis and military aggression. The study, conducted by the methods of IR spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence analysis and calorimetry, confirmed the high energy potential of the raw material, but revealed critical threats to safety and quality due to the lack of standardization. In particular, a critically high content of ethyl nitrite was found in samples based on denatured alcohol, which is a direct consequence of raw material contamination and causes the risk of methemoglobinemia. In addition, samples with a low calorific value were found, which indicates a lack of quality control and unsystematic use of thickeners. The work emphasizes the need for immediate implementation of regulatory measures, including the establishment of permissible limits for impurities in the feedstock and minimum physicochemical parameters, to ensure the safety and efficiency of fuel compositions for critical needs.
