Abstract

The article examines the problems associated with the features of strengthening the slopes of highways. An analysis of the
factors affecting the process of destruction of the slopes of the subgrade is performed. The classification of types of slope
strengthening is studied. This will allow making optimal decisions regarding the application of technological solutions. The basic
principles that must be followed when choosing specific technological solutions for strengthening the slopes of the roadbed have
been formed.
Special attention is paid to modern technological solutions and materials used in this area, including biotechnical methods,
geosynthetic materials, the use of concrete, stone, as well as the strengthening of piles and anchors. The advantages and areas
of application, as well as technological solutions for slope reinforcement processes, are considered. The issue of slope
reinforcement is of particular relevance, since it is necessary to prevent their destruction under the influence of natural and
anthropogenic factors, such as: erosion, precipitation, changes in groundwater levels and vibrations from transport traffic. The
inclined parts of road structures are one of the most vulnerable elements. The article is devoted to the use of modern materials
for strengthening slopes in order to ensure reliable functioning of roads or their individual parts in different construction conditions
and under different influences.
When implementing the selected technological solutions in practice, it is necessary to use the recommendations of regulatory
literature on the design, construction and operation of highways.
