To date, the most common types of airfields operating in Ukraine are those that include the coverage of runways in pavements made of asphalt concrete or cement concrete. An important task for these aerodromes is to provide efficient and long-term maintenance of the coatings without significant investment in their maintenance. For the most part, the most destructive effects are: runways, runways, and aircraft parking areas.
The paper presents the actual requirements for the availability of necessary characteristics and their values in concrete based building materials used for the construction of aerodrome coatings. An analytical review of destructive factors and types of damages of asphalt and cement concrete floors was conducted, as a result of which a list of typical defects that are characteristic for them is formed. The mechanism of accumulation of moisture in monolithic aerodrome decks and those made of reinforced concrete slabs is considered. The peculiarities of passing the freezing and thawing of water in capillary-porous concrete structures in the climatic zones of Ukraine are analyzed. The main factors of the chemical and biological component of the destruction of runways are determined. Considered the possibility of damages of the above-mentioned concrete structures, depending on the intensity of the impact of loads transmitted from aircraft towers to the surface of the aerodrome. The classification of the factors of the destruction of concrete airfield coverings is summarized.
On the basis of the conducted analytical review, as well as preliminary experiments, the hypothesis about the promise of the use of building materials with polymeric impurities for the local repair of coatings of monolithic and slab structures was proposed..
