Abstract

The stress-strain state under compression of a quasi-one-phase array consisting of weathered low-strength shale rocks is considered.

The deformation of samples from low-strength shale rocks in the form of deformation and volume deformations during compression in a compression instrument (odometer) and in a 3-axis instrument (stabilometer) was determined.

Dependences of the deformations  depend on the stress changes ,, the shear modulus G, on the structural strength , and on the viscosity ν(t). The dependences of the volume deformations depending on the volumetric stresses on the structural bulk strength , V and on the volume deformation modulus  are also proposed.

Joint solutions of the equations of shape changes and volume deformations are given.
